Early Head Start Teacher
Ensure our youngest children develop a solid foundation for life. Encourage the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. Ensure their safety and welfare. Conduct child screenings and developmental assessments. Promote family engagement in all aspects of the program. Meet the requirements of Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state, and/or agency policies and procedures. Adhere to The Leaguers code of conduct and Ethics Statement written within the employee handbook.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Sound decision and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, families, and community partners.
• Ability to supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure a safe environment. This includes the
physical ability to monitor and move quickly in order to respond to children who are very active and
may need restraint or redirection in order to ensure their safety or the safety of others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, internet, and e-mail.
• Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certified (training provided).
