The 750 Clinton Avenue and 731 Clinton Avenue sites of The Leaguers, Inc. proudly partnered with MEND to host a community Farmers Market dedicated to bringing fresh, healthy, and culturally relevant foods directly to local families.
The initiative was designed to do more than simply provide nutritious food, it aimed to build trust and consistency within the community. By showing up at the same time each month and offering foods that reflect the cultures and traditions of the families they serve, MEND is helping ensure that parents can rely on a dependable source of fresh produce and healthy options for their households.
Families eagerly visited the market, selecting fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious items while learning about the importance of healthy eating and wellness. The event created a welcoming atmosphere where community members could connect, access resources, and take-home foods that support healthier lifestyles.
The success of the Farmers Market was made possible through the leadership and dedication of Mrs. Shayna Schmidt, whose commitment to family wellness and community engagement continues to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families throughout Newark.
Through partnerships like MEND, The Leaguers, Inc. remains committed to supporting the health and well-being of families, ensuring that every child has access to the resources they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
