MENDS and Leaguers, Inc. Bring Fresh Food and Joy to Newark Families

There was more than just food at the Leaguers, Inc. sites on Clinton Avenue, it was a moment of care, community, and hope. MENDS partnered with Leaguers, Inc. to provide fresh, local fruits and vegetables to families at the 731 Clinton Avenue and 750 Clinton Avenue sites in Newark. Parents and families came together to select fresh produce to take home and share with their loved ones.

Together, 81 families, representing 333 household members, received fresh produce. The smiles, excitement, and gratitude from parents showed just how meaningful the opportunity was for families.

For some families, a bag of fresh produce can mean more than a meal. It can mean one less worry, one more healthy choice, and a reminder that their community cares about them.

This partnership demonstrates what can happen when organizations come together with a shared commitment to supporting children and families. Through this collaboration, fresh, healthy food was placed directly into the hands of families who could take it home and enjoy it together.
