MORE THAN A WALK TO SCHOOL: MEN SHOWING CHILDREN THEY MATTER
A strong start to the school day can begin with a simple message: “We are here for you.”
Today at 1189 East Broad Street in Elizabeth, fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and friends came together for Leaguers, Inc.’s “Dad, Take Your Child to School” initiative.
The initiative was about more than getting children to school. It was about presence, encouragement, and positive male involvement.
As children arrived, they saw men in their families and community taking an active interest in their education. Fathers walked alongside their children, while brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and friends joined in to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
For a child, these moments can carry a powerful message:
“You are important. Your education matters. We are proud of you.”
Today also highlighted that male involvement takes many forms. You do not have to be a father to be a positive influence in a child’s life. A grandfather can share wisdom. An uncle can provide encouragement. A brother can be a role model. A family friend can offer support.
At Leaguers, Inc., “Dad, Take Your Child to School” is an opportunity to bring families and community members together around something that matters deeply, the well-being, education, and future of children.
The morning at 1189 East Broad Street showed that a school community becomes stronger when the people around children make the effort to be present.
Leaguers, Inc. thanks every father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend who participated in today’s initiative and helped give children a positive start to their day.
Show up. Stand beside them. Encourage their future.
