WHEN MEN LEAD, CHILDREN SEE WHAT IS POSSIBLE

A child’s journey through education is strengthened when the adults around them choose to be present.

Today at 1111 Chandler Avenue in Roselle, fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and friends came together for Leaguers, Inc.’s “Dad, Take Your Child to School” initiative.

But this morning was about more than walking children to school. It was about leadership, mentorship, encouragement, and community responsibility.

Men from different generations came together to demonstrate that supporting children is not the responsibility of parents alone. Every man has an opportunity to become a positive influence in a child’s life.

Adding to the significance of the morning, Mayor Derek Armstead of Linden and Mayor Donald Shaw of Roselle joined the initiative and encouraged fathers and male role models to remain actively involved in the lives of their children.

Their presence reinforced an important message: when community leaders, fathers, and families come together around children, they create a stronger support system for the next generation.

A Message to Fathers and Male Role Models. The message throughout the morning was simple: Do not underestimate the power of your presence.

A child may remember the father who walked beside them. They may remember the uncle who encouraged them. They may remember the grandfather who told them to keep going. They may remember the brother who believed in them. They may remember the family friend who showed up when it mattered.

For Leaguers, Inc., “Dad, Take Your Child to School” is an opportunity to encourage men to become active participants in children’s educational journeys and to strengthen connections between families, schools, and the community.

Today, 1111 Chandler Avenue became a place where fathers and male role models could hear an important message from their community leaders:

Your involvement matters. Your example matters. Your presence matters.

The morning was not simply about getting children to school.

It was about showing children that the people around them are invested in who they will become.
